DESCRIPTION:In this session you will learn: \n\nWhat Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is\, the prevalence\, and how it can be prevented\nHow prenatal alcohol exposure affects a developing brain\nThe link between brain function and behaviors- challenges and strengths\nStrategies for changing behaviors\nWhat you can do to prevent FASD and support individuals that may have it\n\nCEU Information: \nThis course provides 2 CEUs. CEUs are Category 1 CEU provided by Indiana State statute 839IAC 1-6-2(F)(86). MHAI Stanley W. DeKemper Training Institute provides CEU’s for the following: \n\nAddiction Counselors\nSocial Workers\nMarriage & Family Therapist\nMental Health Counselors\nCertified Peer Recovery Professionals (CAPRC\, CARC\, CHW/CRS\, CHW\, CCHW)\nCertified Prevention Specialists\n\nPlease allow five business days to receive your CEU certificate. SUMMARY:FASD & the IEP Mentorship Coalition
DESCRIPTION:The FASD & the IEP Mentorship Coalition is an opportunity for ongoing training designed for people working with students with FASD who have\, or need\, an Individualized Education Program (IEP). This program recognizes and focuses on the need for ongoing growth and education specific to the needs of students with FASD within the special education system. We meet on the second Thursday of every month from 4:00pm – 5:30pm PT. This mentorship opportunity combines direct interaction\, discourse\, case studies\, and education relating to FASD & the IEP. Group participation and respectful dialogue is encouraged. Some prior knowledge of FASD and of IEPs required.
