This webinar will focus on describing the diagnostic criteria for conditions along the continuum of FASD, understanding the differential diagnoses of FASD, recognizing the neurodevelopmental phenotype associated with prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE), and explaining the importance of assessing all patients for a history of PAE. Participants will be oriented to the diagnostic assessment, including the areas of the brain affected by PAE, and indications for referral. Faculty will review trauma-informed approaches and promotion of safe stable nurturing relationships for children and families living with FASD. This activity has been approved for 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ and 1.0 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.
