In this session you will learn:
- What Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is, the prevalence, and how it can be prevented
- How prenatal alcohol exposure affects a developing brain
- The link between brain function and behaviors- challenges and strengths
- Strategies for changing behaviors
- What you can do to prevent FASD and support individuals that may have it
CEU Information:
This course provides 2 CEUs. CEUs are Category 1 CEU provided by Indiana State statute 839IAC 1-6-2(F)(86). MHAI Stanley W. DeKemper Training Institute provides CEU’s for the following:
- Addiction Counselors
- Social Workers
- Marriage & Family Therapist
- Mental Health Counselors
- Certified Peer Recovery Professionals (CAPRC, CARC, CHW/CRS, CHW, CCHW)
- Certified Prevention Specialists

- We recommend that participants have a basic understanding of FASD before attending this training. The session will be interactive, and we warmly encourage everyone to take part in the discussions and activities.
