FASD In The Classroom

FASD In The Classroom: A comprehensive webinar for beginning to address FASD in schools.  Topics will include an explanation of FASD and how it presents in the class, how psychologists can assess, interpret results and diagnose, mental health implications, concrete classroom strategies and finally how schools can get started serving students.

Featuring: 

Daniel Dubovsky, MSW, has worked for many years across settings in the field of behavioral health. He is the former head of the FASD Center of Excellence, Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Dan is the author of FASD: Treatment Improvement Protocol for Mental Health and Substance Use Providers (TIP 58: SAMHSA), Addressing Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, and an international expert in FASD and mental health.

Stephen Greenspan, PhD, has a doctorate in developmental psychology and post-doctoral certificate in Neurodevelopmental Disorders. He is professor emeritus in educational psychology from the University of Colorado. Dr Greenspan is the most cited authority in the DSM -5 section on Intellectual Developmental Disorders and has been honored by the American Psychological Association for his contributions. He is well recognized as an international authority on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.

Deb Evensen, MA, is an internationally recognized FASD consultant, master teacher and behavior specialist. She is a pioneer in developing practical solutions that work for individuals with FASD. She has expertise in helping school districts to develop FASD informed programs and has worked with school communities in Alaska, Canada, the Lower 48 states, Japan, and Australia.

Peggy Black, MA, is a speech-language pathologist who has over 40 years of experience in working in special education. She is a FASD Trainer of Trainers, a designated FASD advocate for families for California, the parent of a daughter who has Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, and President, FASD Network of Northern California and member of FASD Now!, a statewide advocacy group.
