Happy Mother’s Day from FASD United

As we celebrate Mother’s Day today, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to all mothers, caregivers, and guardians who tirelessly support us. This rings true for mothers and caregivers in our community supporting those living with FASDs. At FASD United, we support birth mothers with substance use disorders, birth mothers who drank before recognition of pregnancy, and foster/adoptive/kinship mothers alike with the goal of increasing healthy pregnancies and life outcomes.

To celebrate, staff at FASD United share some sweet messages about motherhood:

I’m so fortunate to have been entrusted with the amazing people who call me Mom. I’ve learned more from them than they have ever learned from me.

Being a mom has been the best and hardest thing I have done. Sprinkling in FASD has made for challenges but together with love and determination, we stick together.

Being a mom brings both challenges and deep love, it’s a journey of understanding, supporting, and embracing your children’s uniqueness.

My special twins are the absolute light of my life, and I would do anything to be sure that they are happy and successful. They have taught me to be more understanding and aware of differences and to acknowledge and celebrate their differences!
