Run FASD
September 6th-September 16th, 2024
What is Run FASD?
Run FASD is a virtual 5k event that can happen at your own pace, wherever you are. From September 6th – 16th, 2024, we want you to Run (or Walk!) FASD to bring awareness to Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD), and Give FASD a Seat at the Table.
This is the dream of author, runner, and FASD self-advocate Rebecca Tillou. Rebecca wants to encourage people with FASD, their allies, and supporters to make this invisible disability, visible. This virtual 5k can be completed at a walk, run, or roll in your own time, at your own pace. Can’t run or walk? You can still donate to support FASD and show up to connect with the community.
Run FASD started as a virtual 5k in response to COVID-19 as a way for the FASD community to stay connected to one another. Run FASD has since been a favorite event for folks to gather and connect, whether they run, walk, roll, or sit at the finish line waiting to celebrate their friends.
Registration opens June 1st, 2024! Register to race on your own, with a team, or at an in-person event.
Highlight your organization or business by becoming a part of this community-building, national movement.
Planning to meet up locally? Find out how to get your in-person event on our website so that others can join you. Email us!
An event sparked by a passion for advocacy!
Giving FASD a Seat at the Table means including FASD in conversations about health, education, justice, child welfare, and more.
Our Goals of Run FASD:
1. Providing the opportunity to connect locally with the FASD community.
2. Spreading FASD awareness by inviting your local community into the fun.
3. Giving support to the FASD community and organizations who support them.
