Register to Attend the December 3 FASD United Circle of Stars, It’s Free!

The first FASD United Circle of Stars virtual awards celebration is Friday, December 3 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Everyone is welcome and attendance is free. RSVP today to receive event updates and the Zoom link.

Since 1993, FASD United has honored distinguished leaders who have served families living with FASD, advanced our understanding of the disability, helped to prevent prenatal alcohol exposure, and shared their FASD experiences. Past honorees include Tom Daschle, Ann Streissguth, Karli Schrider, Luther Robinson, Kathy Sulik, Ken Lyons Jones, Nancy Pelosi, and Richard Carmona.

In 2021, FASD United established the Star Awards to annually recognize excellence in the FASD field in the areas of lived experience, research, advocacy, service, and justice. The affiliate star is also awarded as a tribute to the outstanding affiliate of the year as voted on by the affiliate network membership. The first recipients will be announced and will accept their awards during the FASD United Circle of Stars virtual celebration.

The Awareness Star celebrates inspiring personal accomplishment and heroism.

The Research Star recognizes a career of discovery or landmark innovation contributing to real world benefits and improved outcomes for individuals touched by FASD.

The Advocacy Star honors tireless resolve to bring about policy and system change to aid and accommodate individuals confronted with FASD.

The Service Star hails selfless effort and resourcefulness on behalf of the FASD community.

The Justice Star commemorates fidelity to fair treatment in the halls of justice for children and adults living with FASD.

The Affiliate Star rewards the affiliate of the year’s participation, collaboration, and mentorship on behalf of their fellow affiliates.

FASD Respect Act coauthors Senators Lisa Murkowski and Amy Klobuchar and Representatives Betty McCollum and Don Young have been invited this year to share recorded remarks thanking FASD advocates and urging passage of FASD legislation.

Lucas Boyce, Christie Petrenko, PhD, Doug Waite, MD, Susan Shepard Carlson, Billy Edwards, Kathryn Shea, LCSW, Kathy Mitchell, Andy Kachor, Jenn Wisdahl, and Susan Elsworth are among the presenters and speakers.

All are welcome and are encouraged to attend the FASD event of the season. For event sponsorships and additional information contact Tom Donaldson at FASD United.
