Lucas Daniel Boyce

Lucas Daniel Boyce is the Assistant to the County Administrator for Orange County. Florida. He advises the County Administrator and provides administrative, analytical, and technical support. He plans and participates in various programs and operational initiatives that have county wide impact. In addition, Lucas serves as the County Administrator’s liaison with the County Commission, and participates in the strategic planning process to establish future direction for Orange County. He represents the County in meetings and makes presentations to government and business agencies to promote the interest of the County on key issues.

Additional initiatives provide Lucas with the opportunity to be an advisor to the Financial Aid Network, LLC and the Global Institute of College Planning. Some of the industries his clients come from include secondary and higher education, think tanks, political and policy organizations, communications, faith-based, foster care and adoption.

Lucas was appointed to a number of different roles focused on philanthropy, diversity and inclusion, and corporate social responsibility with the Orlando Magic from 2008-2016. He served as Director of business development, community relations, multicultural insights, cause marketing, and government affairs.

Prior to the Magic, Lucas served at the White House in the Office of Political Affairs. Boyce also spearheaded proactive communication, public relations and education outreach among diverse communities, constituencies and issues on behalf of the President. During his tenure at the White House, Lucas also served in the Office of Public Liaison. In this role, he served as the President’s principal liaison to the African American community in addition to leading outreach to the professional sports industry and collegiate sports. His work also provided an opportunity to work in the fields of healthcare and economic policy.

Lucas is the author of Living Proof: From Foster Care to the White House and the NBA, published in January 2011. With over twenty years of professional speaking experience he travels across the country giving speeches focused on servant leadership, team work, overcoming obstacles, and making a positive impact in the lives of others.

Lucas has served on a number of non-profit boards at the national, state and local level. He currently serves on the advisory board of the National Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI). Lucas was honored by the University of Central Missouri Alumni Association with their 2012 Outstanding Recent Alumnus award. In 2011, the Orlando Business Journal recognized Lucas as the 40 Under 40 Man of the Year. Boyce received his bachelor’s degree in political science and speech communication from the University of Central Missouri and graduated with his Executive MBA from Rollins College in May 2013.
