Elizabeth Barlet, MD, is a physician with Mercy Women’s Health in Joplin, Missouri, and an adjunct clinical faculty member for Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. She has practiced in both private and academic settings, including the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Dr. Barlet has served as a consultant for the Midwest Regional Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Training Center (MRFASTC), and Mental and Reproductive Health Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Practice Implementation Center (MRPIC), both CDC-funded entities charged with educating medical professionals about FASD. She was a speaker for MRFASTC from its inception in 2002 and continues as a part of the speaker’s bureau for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) FASD Prevention program, providing education to medical professionals about FASD. Dr. Barlet currently serves on the ACOG FASD Prevention Workgroup and as an ACOG Physician Champion in the area of FASD Prevention.
