Kathy was the Vice President and Spokesperson for FASD United for 24 years. She is an expert speaker on FASD, women’s addiction, and stigma, with an MHS degree and is a licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor. She has also taught at Georgetown and Northwestern University, authored 23 papers, and various handbooks.
Kathy led government projects on FASD prevention and stigma reduction, testified to Congress, and contributed to alcohol warning labels. She has served on WHO committee for substance use disorders in pregnancy and is the former CEO of Montgomery County addiction services.
She founded the Circle of Hope (2004) and Recovering Mothers Anonymous (2020), continuing to speak at conferences and train on the importance of prevention and FASD awareness.
